ArtFire has great forums - you can learn so many new things and make such good friends! Every couple of weeks, I check the the threads where artists of newly opened ArtFire studios introduce themselves and also the studios that have had their (exciting!) first sales. In this post, I thought I would share a few of these studios with you as a "Welcome to ArtFire"!
The first studio is called SpiritArt and is owned by Janeane. I have to say, I am so totally taken with her mystical, ethereal art. Trees figure greatly in many of her art pieces, and being a tree hugger from way back, I especially love those. Here are two pieces of Janeane's art:

This giclee art print, called "Plant the Future" really hits home. Don't we all want to plant the future and leave Mother Earth a better place? This art print comes in two sizes.

Now wouldn't this make the best Mother's Day gift? Janeane has painted a loving "Mother and Her Children" with acrylic paint on wood. The painting is approximately 3 3/16" x 3 5/16" and comes with a hanger so it can easily be hung on a wall.
The next studio was opened recently by a twitter friend, Nancy of jazzitupwithdesignsbynancy. Nancy creates beautiful jewelry, knits ear warmers, wraps and other warm items and also sells some vintage items in her studio. Here are two items that caught my eye:

Just look at the warm, earthy colors in this pink zebra stone and rose quartz 4-band memory wire bracelet! Nancy says gemstones are a great love and they sure show in this beauty.

Winter will return, so be prepared with this hand knit earwarmer with a crochet flower. The earwarmer is so stylish in off white and light country blue.
Faye of LupinLaneKnits moved not too long ago to lovely Prince Edward Island. She reopened her supplies studio with a new name, LupinLaneSupplies studio. HINT: you need to hurry over to Fay's supplies studio because everything is $1.00! She eventually wants to close the supplies studio to concentrate on her recently opened LupinLaneKnits. Picking two items from Faye's new studio was hard, but here they are:

Faye used a carnival of yarn colors to create these fabulous hand knit boot socks. Fashionable and warm, these are a ladies size 7 to 9.

Not only does Faye offer hand knit items, but she also has a wide variety of unique buttons in her studio. These fun buttons are 30 mm in size and have a hand painted daisy design on wood.
A brand new studio was just opened by Mae of CustomMaed. Mae specializes in fun, affordable printable invitations and announcements. She also offers professional print service, too. Aren't the following two picks awesome?

What a cute "Under Construction" birthday invitation that can be fully personalized and sent to you in a digital file. Perfect for a small boy!

Oh, my gosh, remember days of real geek-ness? OK, maybe you weren't a geek but I was and I'm proud to say I had many geek friends (: Loving this geeky fun "Too Cool for High School" graduation announcement/invitation.
I have two old family quilts, one over 100 years old, that I treasure. My Grandmother loved to quilt so I can appreciate all the time and effort that goes into a quilted piece. The gorgeous quilted creations from Anne of PutnamLakeDesigns blew me away. Here are two of my favorites:

Bright and cheery, this tulips in a wagon quilt is a harbinger of Spring. A take a look at the bluebird sitting on the wagon handle (:

This peaceful feeling dragonfly quilt was sent to Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, in the hopes that it will ease some of the pain of loss. One similar to this can be yours as a custom listing.
I hope you enjoyed this small sampling of some of the new studios/studios with their first sale! Please visit the artists featured. A warning, however: be prepared to be amazed at their work!
If you leave a comment, you will definitely make my day!
