My New Handmade Jewelry - August

The other day I ran across this quote by Olivia Thirlby: "I feel naked without jewelry" and it hit home.  At least I feel naked if I leave the house without earrings, my wedding ring and the turquoise ring I have worn every day for many, many years (:  Being a jewelry designer, I hope a lot of people fell like Olivia Thirlby - LOL!

I have been so busy lately getting ready for a BIG juried show (in less than 2 weeks - yikes!), promoting, taking photos, editing photos, listing new jewels . . . well, you get the picture . . . that I'm not sure which of my new creations have been shared on which social media sites and which have not.  I don't normally write blog posts like this tooting my own horn, but I decided to share nine of my newest creations, in order from newest to oldest.  Hope you enjoy them!

This is my newest design, called SPARKLING FLUTTERBIEScreated with a dichroic pendant made by, Rose, an artist friend here in El Paso, black onyx, Swarovski crystal clusters and sterling silver.

14115
Perfect earrings for Autumn, these ILLUSTRIOUS earrings were made with magnificent Czech glass golden bronze ovals and speckled rounds, "light rose" Swarovski crystals, copper and sterling silver

I love druzy . . . and I love these druzy earrings!  They were handmade from titanium coated druzy chalcedony, "capri" Swarovski crystals and sterling silver.  They are called BRILLANTE (Spanish for "sparkling" or "shiny").  The druzy was purchased from Aneah of GraciousElements

The MYSTIQUE necklace is one of my favorites due to the jaw dropping amethyst geode slice pendant and unusual peacock tube beads (just look at the shimmering colors!).  Small amethyst nuggets were added to give texture and sterling silver completes the design.

14117
Rustic and fun, these ANCIENT AGES earrings were designed with glorious Picasso finish Czech glass trilobites, red coral and sterling silver.  LOVE those trilobite beads!

14116
The color of the amazing paua shell (from new Zealand) reminded me of tidal pools so I had to name the earrings MAGICAL TIDAL POOLS.  They were handmade with the aforementioned paua shell, periwinkle lampwork beads with fine silver dots (from Charlotte of Covergirlbeads) and sterling silver.

14118
Missed listing these for the 4th of July . . . but better late than never!  The AMOR PATRIAE (which is Latin for "love of one's country") earrings were created with turquoise magnesite stars, red coral discs, "white opal" Swarovski crystals and sterling silver.  They are long and swingy!

14114
Talk about a necklace that absolutely glows and changes its character depending on the angle you are looking at it!  Reconstructed golden amber in a unique cut, black Czech crystal beads and sterling silver were used to design AMBER WAVES.

As you can probably surmise, I LOVE using trilobite designs in my jewelry - heck most fossil designs!  The copper trilobites used in the ANCIENT ARIA earrings were handmade by Kristi of KristiBowmanDesign.  To highlight the little cuties, I added lampwork beads (from an artist no longer making lampies - so sad), faceted turquoise, copper and sterling silver.

I hope you enjoyed a short peek into what I've been up to lately.  And these are but a small part of what i've created and haven't had time to photograph and list.  The Muses have been active - too many ideas and not enough time (:

Please make my day by leaving a comment.  I'd love that!
